Muhammad Alli-The religious fighter



Muhhamad Alli is one of the greatest athletes of all time and without any doubt a really interesting figure.
 The world heavy weight champion was originally named Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. in 1964 he changed his name to Muhammad Alli, following his convertion to Islam, which would later hugely influence his life. Specifycally,it was a ,,Nation of Islam’’sect.As revealed,the reason of a religion switch was just a ,,Nation of Islam’’ cartoon showing a white man abusing Afro-American and forcing him to pray to Jesus. He innitially was a well-known racial separatist.Alli made a famous speech which included the words, that  ,,no intelligent white or black preson would want his child to marry an individual of other race’’. However, after another Religon conversions(he joined a Sunni Islam and Sufizm cults),he also changed his mind and became a supporter of a racial integration. The American also revealed he thinks that all religions contains the truth. Despite from his beliefs when the fight was coming the boxer wasn’t  a good person anymore as one of his method was ,,trash talking’’-insulting and taunting his opponents.
 Muhhamamad Alli was struggling with the Parkinson’s disease, but he lost this fight in 2016 aged 74.

    A very interesting character indeed. His story goes to show that it is possible to go from militant extremism to a milder, more tolerant and liberal worldview.

     This week I have read an article form The Guardian about Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson, his University Education and the way it affects his present activity.  The article is written by a man, who shared his University classes (although not at the same time, but have attended the same subject in the same school). The studies it is all about was Latin and Greek and an author notices Johnson's eagerness about using this background in the political debate. The esssay is based on three main themes – interwieving university environment on Johnson, quoting times he used his classic education and finally, the author's very critical rewiev of PM's habit and it's foundation.      Although I personally, to say lightly am not a fan of Boris Johnson I found this article quite bizzare and poor.
