Mauricio Pochettino-part 1

Mauricio Pochettino is probably the biggest managerial revelation, when thinking about last few years in football. The argentinian is now considered as a possible best future manager in the word, due to his great results with Tottenham and Southampton. At a first glance, Pochettino seems  as a likeable, nice, calm guy. Altough that’s just partly true-his players adore him but his training methods would fit to a real despot. According to his former player Ricky Lambert, when he gently asked him to lower the intensivity of the match following session he replied ,,Yes ,that’s fine I understand’’.Week later Ricky had 24 interval runs instead of 12 and revealed Pochettino ,,broke him’’.Another challenge for  Southampton players took place during preseason. The boss commaned them to walk on over hot coils, so the players can get to know with his ,,mind over matter’’ motto!

  1. Reminds me of Hubert Wagner, the Polish volley ball coach, who trained our national team and won the Olympic gold and world championship in the 1970s. He had similarly extreme methods.
