A week ago, after I finished school I was traveling by bus. Near the beggining of the ride an stranger asked me to take off his backpack at the next stop and I agreed on this. He was tatty, and  around the age of 50. Right after this, he stood up and began to confess to me the story of his life. He was talking about his education and work career for 10 minutes, while I haven't say a word or look like I care even a little. It made me think about how much we (some people even more than others) like the act of speaking. Speaking, that is not focused on interaction with other person and its' opinion, but where a passive listener is actually a gift. Of course, it's an example from the edge, as there's a man with nothing  to lose and possibly under an influence, but I think it appeals wider, especially when talking about ourselves.

  1. It often happens with people who are lonely and have no one to talk to - they talk to strangers not because they love talking but because there is no one in their life that would listen to them. And we all need to share our lives with others. Don't we?

  2. I think people like to hear their own voice, but when they are lonely, the only thing that matters is
    to talk to anybody
