This week I have read an article form The Guardian about Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson, his University Education and the way it affects his present activity.
The article is written by a man, who shared his University classes (although not at the same time, but have attended the same subject in the same school). The studies it is all about was Latin and Greek and an author notices Johnson's eagerness about using this background in the political debate.
The esssay is based on three main themes – interwieving university environment on Johnson, quoting times he used his classic education and finally, the author's very critical rewiev of PM's habit and it's foundation.
Although I personally, to say lightly am not a fan of Boris Johnson I found this article quite bizzare and poor. I liked the idea of the article and mere story but the usage of  it could be better to say the least. The essayist wanted to attack the politician, but he did it in a truly pathetic manner. Firstly, he gained negative opinions about his political work on the university (that's shocking that some people don't like a PM) and even described him as lazy and a bad student (providing a total of 0 evidence or even clues) for this theory, which stays  in a contrary with a fact that he had actually had a degree. Secondly, he criticised Johnson pointing that classics had also influenced the leftists (although he pointed earlier that rightists too) and that probably was meant to be an argument against him. Finally, the author comes up with an incredibly bright idea that Johnson does it mainly to make himself look better which is, again, a spectacular conclusion. In this case, I have to finally add that I would personally like if polish political debate was going to go in this direction of the discours, even if it was a little bit  c y n i c a l.
